Board Comps explained…

Altrincham Golf Club currently has a truly magnificent total of 38 Board Competitions and this article attempts to describe them to help all members fully understand the rules and regulations involved .

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - J FORD CUP  is a scratch competition played over 36 holes . Whilst in previous years it took note of members 12 best gross scores taken from members’ 6 best gross returns during the season nowadays ithe competition is all about those 36 holes played over Saturday and Sunday and now features those members in the leading positions paired together in the final round . The winner of this competition is hailed as the ‘Club Champion’ of the year . The winningmost member on all available records is James West , who was Club Champion on 10 occasions with the best current member Glen Rothwell , who has won the JFord on 5 occasions .
