Rothwell and Grogan take the J Greatbanks Trophy on countback in a close encounter where 3 pairs finished on +5 !

Fast finishing Mr.Captain ( R.W.Kay ) takes the spoils in tough conditions to prevail on countback to foil fellow silver surfer James Walker Kelly with Alty stalwarts Caffrey and Boardman in the minor places .

Improving David Christian wins his first board competition beating 41 rivals to take the F Cox Memorial Cup thwarting long-time clubhouse leader Glen Rothwell whilst third-placed John Hogan lamented a poor finish and defending champion Stewart Royles’ slow start restricts him to a still-robust campaign in fourth .

Ex captain Steve Wilkinson returns to form to take the prestigious bogey board competition on a attritional day of golf where he was the only golfer with a positive score as fast finishing Shaughnessy and Window fall just short with another ex Captain Crowther maintaining his form but only finishing fourth on countback on a day where our beloved course came out on top .and saw defending champion Walton Sr close up in fifth place of the 23 starters .

Andy Slater returns to form beating 43 competitors to win the Remembrance Trophy ! He just prevailed from closest pursuers Mark Snape and Ken Dixon ... and all of them came from behind to be the main challengers for the trophy as front 9 leader Ian Cheetham and early challengers Wilkinson ,Gayle , Stopford and Ashcroft all succumb to average back 9 finishes . .

Reigning Club champion Stewart Royle produces his best round of the season to deny Alty newcomer Lee Lomas and Nick Alderson beating 46 competitors to take the Shield whilst newcomer Bange took the minor place with early leader Mark Caffrey not able to build on his sensational -6 position after 8 start suffersa a poor back 9 including a quint-bogey 10 to derail his challenge .

A phenomenal front 9 sets Tim Dibble up for an easy win to take his first significant comp since his Monthly Medal victory in August 2015 with Bernie Wood overcoming a dreadful start to finish second and Captain Kay playing solidly but unspectacularly to take third place . Royle brothers Stewart and Neil take the trophies as fellow pairs specialists Miller and MacDonald are thwarted late on and finish one shot behind . Brian Southworth and Captain Kay , the scratch pairing of Andy Miehe and Howard Johnson and similarly new allegiance of John Rossiter and Tim Roberts complete the top 5 all within just 3 strokes of the winner with the windy rainy conditions ensuring no pairing together beat the course par .

Gordon Boardman narrowly wins the Geoff Gibson Trophy from fellow senior John Rossiter with a devastating net birdie blast in the closing holes to prevail as Gayle blows cold when in pole position!

Affable Alty treasure Brian Cawley produces a phenomenal net 64 in the sunny conditions to beat 43 competitors to win the Watson Trophy by 2 shots from Mr. Captain with Howard ‘Bird’ Johnson in third .

Alty GC scribe Paul Hackett edges maverick Andrew Window on countback in the hot and windy conditions to take the Diggle Trophy with Remembrance winner Andy Slater in third .
